Integrity Vision's experience in a project for Ukrainian youth and IDPs - Your career win

From October to November 2022, an important project called ‘Your Career Win’ for Ukrainian youth and IDPs was implemented. This is an initiative of the Happy Monday platform, which was supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Integrity Vision became a partner in the programme, providing career advice in development, testing and IT law. Despite the current circumstances, the company's employees helped the boys and girls with their professional development and job search. All those who wanted career assistance in the form of consultations with experts in their field were able to get it.

It was a very interesting experience for Nikita Gaitanov, Lyudmila Zhlobinskaya and Yuri Nevenchenov! They were happy to take part in the project and to share their professional knowledge with Ukrainian youth.

‘The most difficult thing was that in 30 minutes of communication I had to include a lot of information that I had studied for years, and then there is the fact that people come from different backgrounds: you can communicate with someone on an equal footing, and when there were students I explained everything using ordinary household items. I enjoyed sharing my experiences, but sometimes the participants asked such questions that it was impossible to relax. Unexpected questions kept me on my toes, because sometimes I needed time to check certain information and give the right answer. After all, it is impossible to remember everything, especially when certain things are not applied in practice. I was impressed to be in a certain community of consultants, to exchange the latest information, to learn how other companies work, how they have adapted to military conditions. In a word, it was great!’

Lyuda also received positive feedback from the boys and girls she provided career counselling to. One of them was from K. Natalia:

‘I have been given detailed and up-to-date information on what skills I need to get a job in my chosen field. Now I have a structured list and an action plan. The counselling was very useful for me and I was motivated to start filling the gaps in my knowledge. It was important for me to get an unbiased opinion from someone who works in the field about the real chances of changing my career direction. I learnt more about the issues faced by lawyers in IT companies, which added to my understanding of the job, as I have no experience of it. The consultation was very informative and clear. Thanks again to Liudmyla!’
