Integrity Vision at CamundaCon 2025 in Amsterdam: inspiration, innovation, and agentic orchestration

On 14-15 May, the Integrity Vision team joined the international Camunda community at CamundaCon 2025 in Amsterdam, an event that brought together hundreds of business process automation experts, thought leaders, and partners from around the world.

The event focused on the future of process orchestration and the concept of agentic orchestration, where artificial intelligence, humans, and deterministic processes work together.

Why was this important for Integrity Vision?

We are not just integrators; we are our clients' partners in digital transformation. CamundaCon has become a valuable source of practical experience and inspiring case studies, providing us with a deep understanding of how to combine BPMN, AI and agile architectures to drive real business performance.

Impressions and insights

Agentic orchestration is not the future; it is the present

At the event, Camunda CEO Jakob Freund presented the concept of agentic orchestration — a symbiosis of deterministic processes and flexible actions performed by agents (including AI). We have already seen such approaches transform the banking, logistics, telecoms and other industries.

Real cases: from NatWest to HSBC

• NatWest shared their experience of using AI to detect fraud.
• Rabobank demonstrated how AI copilots and chatbots can improve both the customer experience and KYC compliance.
• HSBC showcased a large-scale transformation of customer processes using Camunda.
• Halkbank discussed the automation of 60% of money transfers without human intervention.

These examples have demonstrated that open standards and the correct architecture enable processes to be scaled up, even in complex environments.

AI and plans for the future

AI is no longer just an add-on — it's becoming an integral part of process orchestration. On the second day of the conference, Bernd Ruecker and Bastian Körber gave a fascinating live demonstration of the capabilities of AI agents at Camunda. They showed how the system can generate emails independently, offer meeting times based on a simple query in a BPMN diagram, and, in more complex cases, address a human expert. Most impressive is the agents' ability to learn. After a few prompts, they can handle such situations without expert assistance.

The concept of a "deterministic sandwich" was emphasised, which involves clearly defined stages before and after agent actions to ensure transparency and control, even when using generative AI. This approach enables the use of agent flexibility without sacrificing process reliability.

The Camunda team also showed new features of Camunda 8.8, including:

• FEEL Copilot - an intelligent assistant for shaping conditions in BPMN;
• email agent based on generative AI, available in the new alpha version of Camunda.

In addition, we saw new RPA features in action and a demonstration of Optimize's capabilities for process analytics and cost estimation.

Bernhard Schaffrik, a principal analyst at Forrester, pointed out the rapid adoption of AI in 2024. However, he noted that, due to the low level of trust, only 1% of critical business processes will fully rely on generative AI in 2025. This is why deterministic orchestration will remain the main paradigm in the coming years. Shaffrick suggested four approaches to effectively implementing AI:

1. Consider AI as a new employee. It needs to be trained, adapted, and evaluated based on value, not just cost.
2. Use AI where it is really appropriate, not everywhere.
3. Eliminate data silos to unlock the potential of AI.
4. Combine deterministic and non-deterministic elements to bridge the trust gap.

These approaches align with the Integrity Vision: AI should work with people, not instead of them. It should be embedded in business processes through BPMN and enhanced automation with RPA solutions.

We believe that combining agentic Orchestration, AI, BPMN, and RPA has enormous potential for customers in many industries, including finance and the public sector. We are taking this path with our partners and customers to develop adaptive, scalable, and secure processes for the future.
